Today's task with the Summer Learning Journey Programme is to imagine that the government decides to create a new $10 banknote and replace Kate with a picture of a different New Zealand woman. On your blog, tell us who you think the government should put on the new $10 note. Please provide us with a picture of this amazing woman and a short explanation of why you have selected her as Kate Sheppard’s replacement. Who do you think should be replaced by Kate Sheppard?
In my opinion, I think that the government should put Winston Peters on the $10 note because he is going to be retired soon and he is a politician of New Zealand. So every time there is a new politician that person should be put on the note, here is an image.
Kia Ora Bella,
ReplyDeleteWinston Peters is a marvellous politician. He has accomplished so much in his career and been so involved in New Zealand politics that he’d definitely be a great candidate for the $10 note.
Did you know Deputy Prime Minister Peters started his own political party. He used to be in the National party but when he couldn’t agree with their principles anymore, he formed ‘New Zealand First’. He has run that party for years now and does a tremendous job. They’re currently in a coalition with Labour which basically means a special agreement where they run New Zealand together.
I once saw Winston Peters deliver a speech! He was brilliant.
I like that you want to put all politicians on New Zealand currency but there are just so many politicians. It could be very expensive to change the money all the time, is there any other ways you can think of that might be more cost-efficient to appreciate and thank our politicians?
Happy blogging!
