Today's task with the Summer Learning Journey Programme is "Ministry Of Inspiration" For this activity please watch this video about the Pasifika Aquabots competition that was held in Nelson. The students had to navigate their Aquabots around a swimming pool, collecting things and visiting different ‘islands.’ On your blog, tell us whether you would like to join an Underwater Robotics team at your school. Why or why not? Do you like the idea of Aquabots, And would you like to compete at the International SeaPerch, If so why?
In my opinion, I think it would be an amazing opportunity for me to socialize with my team mates and use my creativity in different areas by making the Aquabots. It sounds like so much fun, I also like how the kit is reusable, as advance students need to modify the structure of the Aquabot from year to year in order to compete. And the fact that the winning teams are invited to compete in the International SeaPearch competition in the USA.

ReplyDeleteI really like how you have thought about your answer. Working with underwater robots is an amazingly innovative task, and I like how you have acknowledged all you could learn from it right through from practical skills to team work. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to work as a team or with other people, but it’s a vital skill in a lot of jobs so I appreciate that you see it as an asset you could receive from participating.
If you had a robot, aqua or not, what are some of the cool things you would program it to do? I would teach mine to dance, maybe even how to floss!
Perhaps you could add a link to the video you watched for the challenge so people can see what Aquabots are like.
